The King and I Sound Familiar?

“The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedience, and by parts.” ~ Edmund Burke

1.    The King / British monarchy taxed us (the colonies) without representation.
2.    It devalued our currency.
3.    It sent troops and goons into our homes without search warrants.
4.    It harassed and accused us without cause.
5.    We who spoke out were punished for criticizing the king.

Se we fought back and made a country. Our first law of the country is the Declaration of Independence and is still the law today. Its primary voice is the affirmation that our freedoms don’t come from a king but is impressed into our humanity by God Almighty not from any government. Further the Declaration of Independence placed our grievances before the world. The king disagreed so we stood up and fought for independence from the British crown and won. We established a Constitution and it stands as the supreme law of the land; written to first create then limit the powers of the Federal government.

To further impress the peoples’ sovereignty over the government the Bill of Rights was written as law. The Bill of Rights makes it unlawful for the government to interfere with our freedoms, titled as our inalienable rights as said by Jefferson.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights mean what they say that we make the choices in our lives; the government and corporations have don’t have any authority to rule us. Corporations are NOT people.

George Washington and the founders believed that the individual as sovereign was greater than the state. Because the individual has a divinely created soul which God has a purpose for that souls’ growth. Whereas the government and state are mere human thus profane creations that are based NOT on intelligence and wisdom but force. As creations of God and rational thinking beings we have a right to live as we choose and a right to exercise all of our freedoms. This is why we the people are the ONLY authority to shape the government and corporations in and for our interests both foreign and domestic. Yes we have morality on our side but remember the fight never ends, evil and greed are always there so the message is never give in, never give up.

The Pledge of Allegiance & Salute

Patriotism is often the last refuge of a scoundrel. ~ Samuel Johnson

With all the patriot boosting hypocrisy by Republicans these days I thought it would be nice to look at some facts about the pledge to the Flag. The pledge is a beautiful thing to say and read and is accurate too but did you know the Pledge of Allegiance was written by socialist Frances Bellamy. The reason is that he was hired to write the Pledge of Allegiance to sell American flags, not for patriotism but to earn money.

Fact: Mr. Bellamy created a salute to accompany the pledge and it became extremely popular in the early 1900’s mostly among a U.S. President and military officers. The salute was an extended arm.

President Woodrow Wilson insisted that all school children recite the pledge as he led them into doing so by using the extended right arm not the hand over the heart.

The Bellamy salute became so popular in fact that Italian fascists and German National Socialists (Nazis) took it for their own salute. Yes originally we were to use the Bellamy salute for the flag but after WWII no good American would think of using what had become the Hitler salute or the salute to the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.

Which brings us to Samuel Johnson’s quote at the top of this article. So many politicians who are scoundrels who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution often hide behind flag wavers like the Tea Party while giving themselves over to un-American corporations during celebrations when the call to defend freedom goes up and our liberties are at risk. It is then we see them betray their solemn oaths. Such examples are the Patriot Act, TSA, turning a blind eye to out of control agencies like the BATF, EPA, BLM, etc.

Not long ago President Obama declared he had authority to start a war on his own in open defiance of our holy writ the Constitution (holy meaning separate) he swore to uphold. He tried to fool the people by saying just dropping bombs and killing innocent people is not a war, if not a war then its genocide.

How can politicians who don’t respect their own oaths demand we take an oath to a flag or behave in their approved way such as TSA or Patriot Act then question these who demand to be different? This then is the fundamental difference between a people living in the light of liberty or under the evil hand of tyranny.

If the government can ignore the Declaration of Independence and reject the Constitution; if it can force people to speak when they prefer to remain silent then this great venue for freedom will pass away. ~ Judge Napolitano

Stop Coddling the Super Rich

‘Labor is the superior of capital, & deserves much the higher consideration.’ - Abraham Lincoln

Some animals are more equal than others. ~ Animal Farm

The following is the letter Warren Buffett wrote in the New York Times August 14, 2011, it’s been all over the news and net but in case you missed this very important piece here it is in its entirety. How very revealing.

Our leaders have asked for shared sacrifice but when they did the asking they spared me. I checked with my mega rich friends to learn what pain they were expecting they too were left untouched.

While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet we mega rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks.

Some of us are investment managers who earn billions from our daily labors but are allowed to classify our income as “carried intere3st” thereby getting a bargain 15% tax rate. Others own stock index futures for 10 minutes and have 60% of their gain taxed at 15% as if they had been long term investors.

These and other blessings are showered upon us by legislators in Washington who feel compelled to protect us. Much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species. It’s nice to have friends in high places.  ~ Warren Buffett

How very revealing. This was written by a rich man with a spirit of compassion, common sense and the knowledge that if the rich want to live in a safe world they have to feed it properly.

Of Course It Didn’t Work

“We already know what isn’t working: the economic policy of the past two years – and the millions of Americans who should have jobs, but don’t.” ~ Paul Krugman

Of course it (the stimulus) didn’t work, I said that when the failed economic policy of the administration put it into place. All those who are honest will agree that the last two years have had little impact for improving the plight of the middle class but has given us unprecedented budget deficits and monetary expansion.

Krugman is correct when he says that policy hasn’t been working at all.  The right wrongly blames John Maynard Keynes his ideas are known as Keynesian economics was the most influential economist of the Twentieth Century, and his theories still work very well today. The right describes as Keynesian theory as government just spending money and nothing else; that’s only the half of it. Unfortunately that’s all the Obama administration has done.

To spend government money on the middle class with good paying jobs in a depression is like putting a tourniquet on a limb to stop the bleeding. It works and is necessary but a tourniquet by itself does not complete the healing process, that’s why I said 2 years ago the economic policy of Obama won’t and can’t work.

If we are to regain the economy and heal the middle class the administration must replace those policies and laws that built the middle class and eliminate those that destroyed it. Reinstate and improve those policies that worked. That’s Keynesian! Move forward on Roosevelt’s Second Bill of Rights. Give the other side fits to the point that they will be relieved to give in on what’s most important to us.

Right now the key to all this is that it’s going to take somebody with guts and a thick skin. Someone who embraces the name calling, the personal accusations and who will use the bully pulpit to educate our people against the propaganda the rich spit out. Someone who embraces the battle, those like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Dennis Kucinich.

There Were Banking Crisis’s Then Too

“The principal of spending money to be paid by future generations, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”
Thomas Jefferson

The right loves to attack FDR so let’s look at a major reason they still hate him. When FDR took office not one bank in the United States was open, it was a time as now to engage.

From 1791 to 1935 there was a banking crisis every 14 years. From 1935 to 1986 there was stability in banking because FDR passed laws that forbade banks from being involved in the corporate world of risk. Legislation separated banks into 2 sectors commercial and investment. Commercial was for mom and dad boring and stable. Investment was for those with money to put at risk and loose. Billy Clinton and Phil Gramm eliminated that firewall in 1999 thereby precipitating the Clinton/Bush depression.

President Franklin Roosevelt did more than end the depression; he created a philosophy in the country that said corporations and business have a responsibility to provide good paychecks and working conditions for their employees; that a man should reap the benefits from his daily labors and enjoy a comfortable secure lifestyle after his labors are over in retirement. He further wanted to codify this in law with a Second Economic Bill of Rights. It is this Second Bill of Rights the Democratic Party should be fighting to pass and legislation to properly fund those rights through proper capitalism instead of the gangster capitalism they bow to now, such bowing will only lead to the Fascist state and all rights lost for all.

A Word on Rating Agencies

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.”  ~ Thomas Jefferson

As I’ve been saying for several years now please can the government go after these rating agencies? Years ago when I was studying for my insurance license we learned who were these rating agencies and their job function. Those lessons said nothing about what’s been going on since the Clinton/Bush depression began and how these agencies are part of the cause of this the greatest depression.

Rating agencies such as Standard and Poor’s are to only to rate corporations and their securities to give the investor an honest idea of the stability of said security and or institution. They are not to rate governments. We also learned for example a bank was prevented from entering into the insurance business and an insurance company was prevented from dabbling into banking. And so it was during those better days before the Glass-Steagall Act was repealed in 1999 by Democrat Bill Clinton and Republican friend Phil Gramm along with banker Robert Rubin.

When criminal activity is ignored the criminals are encouraged to continue and their boldness grows even larger until the wicked engulf the good. So let’s see how this has been played out with the rating agencies and why we need regulation and prosecution.
1.    They got paid to rate toxic paper (sub-prime mortgages, derivatives, CDO’s Collateralized Debt Obligations, etc.) as AAA.
2.    They received money for selling same.
3.    They got bailouts for placing the responsibility on us not taking the responsibility for the con on themselves.
4.    Then they got paid from AIG through their insurance fraud scam.
5.    AND NOW THEY ARE CAMPAINGING AGAINST ENTITLEMENTS!

Now this government is going to allow these incompetent criminals in zombie banks to downgrade the United States government? Are we insane?

Downgrade? No! Criminally prosecute and send them to prison.

One Thought on Debt

Thought control, gun control, speech control – the pattern is control.

Currently in the U.S. debt is 84% of GDP. In Japan debt is 220% of GDP and Japan is doing just fine (other than being radioactive). Japan hasn’t been growing but everyone has health insurance, everyone has comfortable retirement and the country has low unemployment.

The taxes paid by the rich was 431.1% 1961 now 23% for millionaires and we wonder why we have no money. The question we the people have to answer is what kind of life and country do we want? All the resources are here for a great life. We have to take those resources for ourselves and stop funneling everything to the richest 1%.

We must top the rich from socializing their expenses and privatizing our profits.

FDR’s Dream an Economic Bill of Rights

“Property monopolized or in the possession of a few is a curse to mankind.” ~ John Adams, 1765

In his January 11th, 1944, State of the Union address to Congress President Franklin Roosevelt unveiled a plan that was to be a part of the New Deal; he called it the Second Bill of Rights. Here are the 7 amendments that if enacted would create economic heaven in the United States. Here it is as he put it.

We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. Necessitous men are not free men. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all – regardless of station, race, or creed. Among these are:
Opportunity
1.    The right to a useful and remunerative job…
2.    The right to a good education…
3.    The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies.
Security
4. The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.
5. The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health.
6. The right of every family to a decent home.
7. The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation.

He believed that a small businessman should not be subjected to monopolies, unfair trade agreements, dumping, gangster capitalism, cartels and or oligarchies, etc.
Isn’t it time we reevaluate capitalism? Is there not a better way than this current model of lizard gangster capitalism? YES INFATATICLY!
