Plato told Aristotle no one should make more than five times the pay of the lowest member of society. J.P. Morgan said 20 times. Jesus advocated a negative differential — that’s why they killed him. — Graef Crystal

The superior person understands rightness; the inferior person understands profit.

I have a friend who has been finally pushed over the line. Since the company he works for has seen fit to cap his wages at a 1994 level he has decided to pay his bills the same way.

For example, when he gets a bill from the electric company he will pay what he can afford. If the bill says to pay $150.00 they’ll probably get $30.00 because that’s all he can afford.

Imagine if we all could do that, how long do you think it would be before they would have to make changes and deflate these killer rates?

He just told me the other day that he gave the landlord $200.00 less than the rent bill. Guess what? They took it!

He says he is paying his bills at the level the company allows him to, if any bill collectors have a problem with that they can talk to the company executives who are holding the balance of his normal cost of living expenses. So go ahead my friend let me know how it plays out.
